The Spring Chickens enjoy their Mystery Tour around Dartmoor
Thanks to the Portreeve's Pick donation from Coljan and the generosity of our community, the Spring Chickens were finally able to enjoy their first coach trip since the start of the pandemic.
They were treated to a Magical Mystery Tour on Dartmoor followed by tea at the Moorland Hotel. The group had a fabulous time on the trip and it was the first time some of them had left Ashburton in over 2 years!

Trips like this are so important for those that have become socially isolated during the pandemic and the support from the community is greatly appreciated.
About The Spring Chicken Group
The Spring Chickens is an informal meeting group bringing together those most in need of some company, a chat over a cup of tea, a little quiz or a game of bingo and sometimes a mystery tour around the countryside by coach.
The group usually meets on the second Monday of every month at S. Andrews Church Hall in Ashburton from 2 to 4 pm.

The Portreeve's Pick
When you eat out at participating pubs and restaurants in Ashburton, look out for the "Portreeve's Pick" on the menu. When you choose the “Portreeve’s Pick”, part of the proceeds are donated to support important local causes - it all adds up and a little goes a long way!
