What type of information we have

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • personal contact details including: your name, postal address, phone numbers and email addresses

 

How we get the information and why we do we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you so that we may keep you informed about Courts meetings, events and news.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis for collecting and recording your contact information is:

  1. Your consent.  You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us using our contact details above.

 

What we do with the information

We use the information that you have given us in order to to enable and manage our communications with you.

We may share this information with the Steward to the Courts, Portreeve, Master Bailiff and Foremen of the Juries to help them in the execution of their duties.

Your information will not be shared with third parties outside the organisation.

 

How we store your information

Your information may be stored securely as a paper based record at the office of the Steward to the Courts and electronically in the form of contact records, mailing lists and on electronically stored documents.

We will keep your information as long as you remain a member or until you withdraw consent.  We will then dispose of your information by securely shredding paper based records and deleting electronically stored records from our systems.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
